About the Author

My name is Douye Soroh. I am a Nigerian writer and the sole author behind every story on this platform.

I started TwistedStories because I wanted to tell the kinds of stories that were missing from the shelves I grew up reading — stories rooted in African experience, soaked in supernatural dread, and written with the unpredictability that keeps readers genuinely uncertain about what comes next. Reader unpredictability is not a side effect of my writing. It is the entire point.

My influences include Brandon Sanderson for world-building discipline, John Gwynne for gritty emotional stakes, and the oral storytelling traditions of the Niger Delta where I grew up — a culture where the line between the living and the dead has always been a conversation, not a wall.

TwistedStories now has over 131 published stories across multiple genres, more than 80,000 all-time views, and a growing readership across Nigeria, the United States, and beyond.
